Communities We Serve
About

Healing should be accessible to everyone—especially those facing stress, trauma, and systemic barriers to care.

Guided by community need and the realities of Los Angeles County’s most underserved populations, The Healing Bus brings breathwork, meditation, movement practices, and other trauma-informed modalities directly into the spaces where people live, work, gather, and receive services.

Unhoused

People living on the street, in shelters, or in unstable housing face extreme stress, trauma, and disconnection. We bring grounding, nervous-system–calming practices to Skid Row, Venice, Hollywood, South LA, and beyond.

Foster Youth

Young people in or aging out of the foster system experience high instability and heightened risk of homelessness. Our sessions offer tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and connection.

Low-Income

In neighborhoods across South LA, East LA, Pico-Union, and more, families are navigating financial stress, overcrowding, and limited access to wellness resources. We bring healing directly to these communities.

Survivors of Domestic Violence

Adults and children escaping violence often carry deep emotional and physical trauma. Our modalities support grounding, safety, and nervous-system relief.

Survivors of Human Trafficking

We support partner organizations providing housing, legal aid, and recovery services by offering trauma-informed healing experiences that complement therapeutic care.

Veterans

Former service members facing PTSD, reintegration challenges, disability, and housing instability benefit from our accessible, calming, practitioner-led sessions.

Justice & System-Impacted Individuals

Youth and adults impacted by incarceration, arrest, or gang involvement face steep barriers to stability. We partner with reentry programs to offer healing, focus, and emotional resilience.

Frontline Workers & Caregivers

Case managers, outreach workers, clinic staff, teachers, and caregivers often experience burnout and secondary trauma. We bring wellness sessions that help them restore capacity and continue their essential work.

"The Healing Bus helped our team slow down and reconnect. As a nonprofit constantly in motion, this experience gave us space to breathe, relax, and truly be present with one another. It was an incredibly grounding team-building and wellness experience that left us feeling lighter, more connected, and genuinely cared for."

"Seen&Heard's care providers were blessed to receive a time of rest and reflection through the amazing practitioners at The Healing Bus. Through movement and creative art therapy, our team was able to connect and let go of stress. From the time we walked into their lovely space, to the time we left, our team felt personally cared for. It's not common for a service like this to be provided for people on the front lines of working with youth who have experienced trauma. We needed this time so much, and are full of gratitude for the time and care the folks at Healing Bus provided!"

“The Healing Bus helped me offer our front-line staff an opportunity to connect and unwind in a safe space. The work our Legal Services Cohort does can often be daunting and emotionally draining. The modules the Healing Bus hosted for our team allowed them to share the impact the work has on their mental health and build a community of support among peers. They also walked away with concrete skills they can use like movement and acupressure to relieve workplace stress. After the sessions, our team was very happy and relaxed. They still talk about what a great time they had."

“The Healing Bus went above and beyond to give our team of social workers and health professionals an opportunity to pause and take care of themselves. The sound bath and art therapy helped each of us take a moment to breathe and be in the moment. The day to day of working in the cancer community can take its toll, and The Healing Bus helped restore our team after a long and challenging year.”
